It’s Thursday and our men have just filed out after our weekly RC Duncan Bible Application Breakfast.  We had 70 men this morning; men from every walk of life and every denomination in our city.   Even a few men attend who aren’t real sure about this Jesus thing.  I know this much, as I look around that room; I don’t know where we would be from 6 am to 7:15 am on Thursday’s if it weren’t for Jesus, but it wouldn’t be here!  I think the men would tell you that this accountability group has made us better fathers, grandfathers, husbands, friends, and overall better Christian men.

We had six students from Kansas State come in to serve at the Soup Kitchen today.  These college students have been working at the Arkansas Food Bank all week.  I am guessing they have been on spring break.  They wanted to do something that was a little more hands-on for the less fortunate so we are hosting them today where they can serve in the Soup Kitchen.  They just left here; six young ladies who are indeed on spring break – just giving back.  Don’t try to sell me on this terrible young generation.  I never spent my spring break thinking of anybody but Paul Holderfield, Jr.   Dad often said, “We don’t have a kid problem in America, we have an adult problem.  We have kids who’ve never seen a real mom and dad.“   Dad said that people would ask him how we were going to stop all the crime?  Dad would tell them, “Well one of the best ways would be to stop raising criminals.  The cure to crime is not in the electric chair, but the cure to crime is in the high chair.”  (See Proverbs 22:6)

Tonight we have 20 high schools students coming in for four days from Missouri on a mission trip.  They are part of a Bible Study youth group that meets before school.  Their school each year permits those interested in taking a mission trip.  Don’t try and sell me on these sorry kids today.  My school may have allowed it back in 1971 but I wouldn’t have been interested.  I was my mission.   Oh and I forgot to tell you these kids attend a PUBLIC school!

Pray for us as we pray for you.

in HIS grip,

Bro. Paul, Jr.
